Michael Gabriel, Owner of Gabriels Technology Solutions, is one of real estate’s most tenacious entrepreneurs and innovators. His proclivity to persevere is only exceeded by his perpetually positive disposition and engaging energy. It’s what has fueled the ability for Gabriels Technology Solutions to attract world-class brands at every turn throughout its 20-plus year history.

Today, Gabriels Technology Solutions powers the consumer real estate search experience for many of the world’s most innovative and prestigious real estate and media news websites, from Sotheby’s International Realty and Christie’s International Real Estate, to the New York Times and the Boston Herald’s Boston.com. Gabriels has become real estate’s leading provider of luxury real estate websites while maintaining its long-held leadership as the world leader in providing real estate technology to media companies and conglomerates, with a global footprint that covers 28 countries and 42 states in the U.S.

Raised in an Italian family living in Newburgh, NY, right after he graduated from high school, he boarded a train for Manhattan with only change in his pocket. Michael started his career as a real estate broker, selling and renting apartments in Manhattan during the late 1980’s. In the early 1990’s, he joined Glenwood Management, a residential property management firm specializing in Manhattan luxury rentals. Glenwood became a real estate Mecca for Michael, where he learned the value of developing relationships with highly successful business people. It would ignite his interest in starting his own business: the creation of “Gabriel's Apartment Rental Guide,” the first publication to help New Yorkers find an apartment. It was essentially the Craigslist of the east, as it became the predominant way to find a Manhattan rental.

The Guide’s success – like much of the rest of Michael’s career – was fraught with challenges and major risk taking. But as one door would close, another one opened, and Michael was prepared, and he never gave up. His perennial perseverance would lead to creating New York City’s first MLS, only to have local brokers baulk, causing its collapse. But The New York Times stood in the wings and partnered with Michael, and his fledgling Gabriels Technology Solutions went on to run what became the nation’s most successful and lucrative regionally focused real estate portal.

Partnering through the years with America Online, Barbara Corcoran, The Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, Sotheby’s International Realty, Christie’s International Realty and many more premier brands played a vital role in the success of Gabriels Technology Solutions.

Today, Michael lives and works in Manhattan with his wife and two children, and while he notes his business success on paper looks like he’s always in the right place at the right time, it’s been perseverance and being prepared for the next opportunity that is truly the secret to his success.
